BATHING ADVENTURES

At Pirbadet nearly all the attractions are found in one big room. We offer some bathing toys, but feel free to bring your own. Some refer to the facilityas a “bathing cathedral”.
The proximity and the view of the sea, weather and wind, and not in the least Munkholmen, is fascinating. Here, you will find summer temperatures, both ashore and in the water,
throughout the whole year!

High-dive platform

The high-dive facility in Pirbadet holds international competition standard with 10 meters as the highest platform.

The tower has the following platforms:

  • 2 pcs. springboards at a height of 1 meter

  • 1 pcs. fixed platform at a height of 3 meters

  • 1 pcs. springboard at a height of 3 meters

  • 1 pcs. fixed platform at a height of 5 meters

  • 1 pcs. fixed platform at a height of 7.5 meters

  • 1pcs. fixed platform at a height of 10 meters

NB! The high-dive platforms/spring boards are not available during the morning bath period Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 06:00-09:00.

Remember to walk carefully both up and down the stairs from the high-dive – the steps are narrow! Do not run!

Water slides

In the same area as the youngster’s pool, there are 3 slides. One 100 long speed slide with effect lighting, tunnels and a sensational feeling. And may be Norway’s toughest water slide measuring 80 meters with effect lighting!  In addition, there is a small slide with a separate landing pool. Here, the water normally holds about 31 degrees C.

All our slides have an age limit of 10 years. This is due to safety reasons. Remember to slide one and one, and keep your distance, so that you avoid injuries. NB! Be particularly attentive to children and people who are not proficient swimmers – the pool at the broad slide is much deeper than you may believe!

The slides open at 10:00 Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, at 09.00 Saturdays and Sundays and at 12:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please note that we close all slides 10 min. before closing time (every day)

Sports pool

The pool has eight lanes and is of international standard. The width is 21 meters and the length is 50 meters. A movable dock port divides the pool. The water temperature is about 27-28 degrees C. There are always some free lanes for fitness swimmers, but also often a few dedicated lanes for competition swimmers. Thus you may exercise while you observe the elite swimmers and maybe will learn a trick or two?

NB! On Saturdays, there are no free lanes in the sports pool between 09.00 and 10.00

NB! On Sundays, there are 2 free 50 meter lanes between 09.00 and 10.00

See our pool plan: banefordeling

The pool contains a mixture of fresh water and salt water – and as much as 3000 cubic meters of water

The wave pool is situated in the centre of Pirbadet and here, the waves vary from slow breakers to sharp tops. The pool may also be used for play. The water holds about 31 degrees C and is 12 x 24 meters. In the end of the wave pool, you will find out climbing wall – come and try it!

Climbing wall

There is a climbing wall in the end of the wave pool with several routes you may try out. The routes are designed by a professional climber, so here, there are challenges both for beginners and advanced climbers.
